So I realize we’re a third of the way through November, but I’m making a November goals post now (oops). Normally, I want to do a progress report on my goals as well as make new goals at the beginning of every month. These goals will be broken into categories such as Food & Fitness, Blogging, and Other. I want to start on the slower side with this whole goal thing, especially considering a good chunk of the month has already passed. So, without further ado, here are my goals for this month!
Fitness & Food
☐ Go to the gym 5 out of 7 days of the week.
Both David and I joined Xperience Fitness in Vadnais Heights (only 15 minutes from our apartment) on Sunday. They also have a location about five minutes from where I work in Woodbury. Most importantly though they are opening up another location basically down the street from us in a few weeks. Not only is this gym our best option location wise, but Xperience also offers the most stuff for the cheapest price. For 22 bucks a month we get access to regular workout stuff (weights, cardio machines, floor area, etc.) as well as a pool (a must for David) and unlimited classes.
I really don’t like working out, and the classes are my attempt to pretend like I’m not actually sweating, I’m having fun. It doesn’t usually work super well, but it’s better than running on a treadmill for an hour. I haven’t had the chance to try a class yet, but since Sunday we have gone to the gym four times this week. Not a great track record, but we’re working on it.
☐ Lose about 2 pounds per week
This goal makes me uncomfortable. I really don’t like sharing this type of information with people, but the whole point of this blog is to keep me accountable for these goals. So, with some gentle encouragement from David, I’ve decided to be transparent about my weight loss goals.
☐ Don’t eat dairy or gluten. AT ALL.
This may be my most difficult goal. I’ve already cheated about 4(?) times this month because cheese and ice cream are really good. The thing is, it makes my stomach upset and triggers my throat condition which makes it difficult to swallow for the following 24 hours. So, I know it’s bad. And yes, Mom, I know it will develop into a terrible disease if I keep eating it. I just love eating dairy, but it’s bad for me so I will stop!
☐ Get AdSense Running
This has proven a bit more difficult than I thought, probably because I don’t understand HTML code very well. But soon I will get it up!
☐ Post Three Blog Posts Per Week
Not sure if this is too many or too few, but since this is all so new I figured 3 was a good number to start. I’ve decided on doing a Try It Out/Touristing post, a DIY post and a Food post. I thought these were good options to try some new things and get some fun hobbies rolling!
☐ Start making Christmas gift lists
I’m the kind of person who needs months to think about this kind of thing. The second December hits, I’ll feel the need to have all my gifts bought and wrapped. Otherwise that good old anxiety monster will come out and it will never get done.
This seems like a good, comfortable starting place for me and my goals. There may be too many or too few, but you all need to remember I’m just starting out with this whole goal thing! I’ll write another post similar to this one at the beginning of December and in the first week of each following month. I want to stay accountable for these goals, and stating them here every month with updates is a great way to do so. Wish me luck!
