It’s finally December, yay! December is honestly one of my favorite months of the year. I get to see family and friends more than usual, and everyone is just in such a great mood. Skiing is also my favorite winter activity, which will hopefully come into full swing this month. It also doesn’t hurt that we end the month with the double whammy of Christmas and New Year’s Eve!
Before we jump into this month’s goals, I want to backtrack and give you all an update of November’s goals. I think I did pretty well considering it was my first month of goal-making! However, there is still a ton of room for improvement.
FITNESS & FOOD
☐ Go to the gym 5 out of 7 days of the week.
So this is the number one goal that has room for improvement. David and I succeeded in going to the gym all five days during two of the four weeks this month. The other two weeks we went at least twice. So it isn’t a COMPLETE fail, but it’s still a fail. Five days might be a little aggressive, so next month I think I’ll move down to four. Shout-out to Dr. Silverman for teaching me it’s ok to modify my goals.
☑ Lose about 2 pounds per week.
Despite not making my gym goal, I made this one! Woo! I actually accidentally overachieved a bit and lost a total of 10 pounds. I know my body though, and I know that the first 10 pounds are the easiest. In the past when I have tried to lose weight, I have always lost the first 10 pounds really quickly. Unfortunately, I inevitably end up gaining back everything I lost plus more. Not this time though – I will persevere!
☐ Don’t eat dairy or gluten. AT ALL.
So this was a big, fat fail. I ate more dairy and gluten than I had in previous months which landed me in the ER on Thanksgiving night. It really wasn’t fun. It was a much-needed wake-up call, and as a result I have a new-found drive to do better in December.
☑ Get AdSense Running
I did it! It took what seemed like forever, but I finally got everything up and running on Tuesday night. I’m not sure I really understand all the features and stuff, but it’s a learning process and I get that.
☐ Post Three Blog Posts Per Week
Alright so this one was another sort of fail, sort of success. I clearly didn’t get three posts up each week, and didn’t get up ANY posts last week because of Thanksgiving. Every other week this month I got one or two up. Three was just a little bit too much. I think the goal for next month will be just two per week. We’ll see how it goes.
☑ Start making Christmas gift lists
Done! I even went one step further and got the supplies for everything I am making people. I’m excited to start! I’ll share the DIY posts about them in January. I can’t ruin the surprise for the people receiving the gifts!
So overall, I’m pretty proud of myself! Though I only succeeded in about half my goals, I learned a lot and that’s really all you can ask for. More than anything, November left me hungry to start next month’s goals:
